EPS Environmental Ltd working together with Farrans EPSE JV, have been awarded t…Kane Engineering has successfully completed a major LV switchboard for Independent News & Media Group, for their new multi-million pound Printing press operation in Newry, Co. Down.
Panel specification:
The 5000A, 50kA panel, incorporates 2 x 3200A 4P ACB incomers in parallel, with a 5000A bus coupler switch. The large LV switchboard, weighing in at some 8 metric tons (including 3.5 tons of copper bar!), incorporates 12 draw-out pattern Eaton Magnum range Air Circuit breakers, in excess of 30 MCCB's, and also associated distribution & controls for site lighting.
The impressive switchboard is constructed in Cubic Modularsystem, in a 'back-to-back' configuration, with devices operating 'front access' on 3 of the 4 sides of the panel. The switchboard - critical to the tight timescale of the project - was crane-lifted into position on site, completing a turnaround period of just 6 weeks from order to delivery.
