Farrans/EPS win Wateraid Quiz Scotland

The Farrans EPS team have won the 2011 Scottish Region Wateraid Quiz at the Dunb…EPS Environmental Ltd in partnership with DAWSON WAM Civil Engineering a Northern Ireland Water Integrated Wastewater Framework (IWWF) contractor has recently completed the upgrade to Donnybrewer WwTW to meet new EHS requirements. The existing works at Donnybrewer WwTW provided treatment via an oxidation ditch that was overloaded and performing erratically. These problems were alleviated by provision of a primary settlement stage to reduce the biological and suspended solids loading and an increased hydraulic load was addressed by providing a new larger final settlement tank. The revisions to the treatment process can be summarised as follows;
- New inlet pumping station
- New buffer tank with screened storm overflow
- Existing FST converted to a storm tank
- New storm pumping station
- New inlet screening and screenings handling
- New radial primary settlement tank
